Yoga Trainings for First Responders to Build Strong Minds, Strong Bodies, and Open Hearts.
Initially a 10-week yoga class in a firehouse apparatus bay, FireFlex is now a nationwide First Responder wellness brand offering workshops, Train the Trainer programs, online courses, and all-are-welcome support for First Responders.
In the early days, Shannon noticed how First Responders did not need crossfit-style yoga, they needed to slow down, decrease cortisol, tune in, and turn inward to de-escalate. Now more than ever, Shannon invites First Responders to learn the subtle-yet-challenging skills of interoception, connect with their breath and their humanity, while learning yoga poses that support their daily tasks.

“Thanks to FireFlex trainings, our personnel are better equipped with tactical skills to mitigate injury and digest stress. It’s an investment in our personnel and I’m proud we’ve signed up for ongoing trainings. Shannon knows first responder culture and teaches the data and the science to support why yoga is imperative.”

“We are constantly in a state of hyper-awareness and it’s important we find time to slow down. I have learned to do this by regulating my breath. Now when I hear the tones go off, I take a deep breath and feel my body calming down. This helps me think more clearly when I have to make decisions that will affect my crew and the public.”
